When I fished the horn in August, all I used was a 7wt to throw hoppers and streamers.

if its windy which i m sure it will be you’ll be thanking yourself you took the 7wt although i think throwing the sink line may not matter anyways…id go 7wt!

Most 7wt rods will throw a 6wt line.

The SA Galloup sinking Streamer Express line is not sold by line weight it is sold by grain weight.

You can probably compromise by backing off your targets a bit and throwing a little more line.

The SA Galloup sinking Streamer Express line is not sold by line weight it is sold by grain weight.  The 200 grain line is designed for six and seven weight rods.

If that is the line you have it should fish well on a seven weight rod.

    Agreed.

I don’t know about doing myself a favor by breaking my rod, however I am happy that I’ll be okay using the 7wt.
