I have never followed any of the skip a weight rules.

The only line weight I feel doesnt get much credit is the 7wt.

Love my 7 weight. The only rod weight I can’t seem to find a use for is an 8 weight and I really sometimes need an excuse to buy a rod.

I don’t think I have ever cast a 7 weight but I bet my S3 6 weight could handle a 7 weight line with no problem. I believe that most of the faster stiffer rods you could easily go up 1 or 2 line weights for most fishing conditions. I think that a 6 weight is a better all around rod than a 5 weight for general fishing on good size water with a really wide range of flies. Anyone else feel the same way.

    fffg,
I fished the Mo annually during the 90’s during it’s heyday befor whirling disease and the crowds came.
