My good friend Cw got out of the Marine Corp about a year ago after serving our county for four years. He has had a tough time transitioning back into our world after two tours to Iraq. He has seen more hell than any human should ever experience.
I have been trying to get him to take up flyfishing as a new hobby/way of life. He loves to fish traditional tackle and I thought this would be good therapy for him.
I found a creek last nite that was loaded with reds. I could have caught more reds in this one creek than I have all year. I hooked over 50 and landed half that many.
Here are a few pics from his first time on the water with a fly rod.
The pics were taken from his Iphone, so sorry about the quality. I drop my camera in the water in the mountians about a month ago.
Chris.
that is some great therapy and good on you for taking the time. It is a very hard transition to convert your life back to some what normal and this type of activity and friendship helps. I spent 2 years in a transition phase in my life back in the mid 90’s and it is no picnic and I know a bunch of guys that have never recovered.
