Why do they cost so much? I was under the impression they were pretty useless except for weird effect. I’m real interested in seeing some images from any of you who are using one.
I was at the local photography store today and was checking out wide angle lenses.

I’m interested in them but wanted to see more images to get a feel for it. Thanks Matt. Labrati do you have any old Minolta glass laying around you’d like to part with?
i was going through a few of the older posts and thought I’d chime in on this one .. I just picked up the sigma 10mm .. I knew it would be a specialized lens when I got it, but IMO it was worth the $$$ just for those couple of shots/situations where it shines!

My next lens will be a super-wide but not quite fisheye. I believe as a fisherman, I’d get more use out of something like this:
