We headed to the West Branch this weekend to throw streamers in the high water. The West Branch was 3100 cfs at Hale Eddy so we assumed finding Hendrickson’s was as an exercise in futility. Well, we were SO wrong. I’ve been fishing the Delaware system for years and never seen anything like this. All those big fish were pushed up against back, but they were eating dry flies! We found pods of big fish chomping duns all afternoon.
Don’t be put off by the high water – the river is fishing really well.
