The Itinerant AnglerAll right people, let’s exercise our creativity a little bit.
I keep a running list of products in my head that do not exist, but that I wish did.

John BennettMemberI’d like to see waders with some mid sized external pockets located around both the hips and thighs..Similiar in idea, function to cargo pants.

That’s funny, I was thinking the same thing.

MemberMy biggest gripe is the lack of fishing clothing for the big and tall guys.

MemberHow about something that makes the weather/wind/rain cooperate with saltwater trips?

There is a Swedish company I recall that had mesh zippered pockets on their waders.

I found it

All part of the game down here. Some times I think I’m not allowed to fish unless the flags outside stand straight out.

Memberi’d like to see no ice guides and a heavy duty kayak dry top with hood built for fly fishing specs. (pockets, hand warmers, D loops, etc.

The Itinerant AnglerThere you go, thanks Rob.

The Itinerant AnglerI bet you could lay a wire in the epoxy of the rod, running the length of the whole rod, and then connect that to a AA battery concealed in the reel seat.

MemberI always thought a nice piece of roll out plastic with targets on it that ran from 40-70ft would be cool to come with all beginners kits. They would give you something to cast at and wouldnt ruin your line by having it slapped on the concrete or grass. You could also make it blue and make the targets species of fish at different distances.

Memberif not a heating element, then something (like a ring of toothbrush bristles) that would remove water from the tip top guide as line is pulled through (that would not effect line speed going in or out) and prevent water from coming in contact with the guides in the first place.
this thing would most likely freeze and would have to be de-iced. i’d rather have one frozen than half a dozen

David AndersonMemberI would really like to see longer gravel guards for wet wading.
I’m thinking the Simms neoprene in knee length .
These would be better than nothing snake protection and save more wear & tear on chins. The other thing would be fly fishing shirts that owe nothing to tradition and are designed purely around not getting nuked by the sun.
Tropic weight like LL Bean or Simms or Columbia, but with a high collar, maybe like a turtle neck that could be rolled up or down, and very long sleeves that cover more of your wrists & top of the hand.
I see things that are close, but not in very light cotton or the like for the heat.www.dsaphoto.com
A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

MemberDavid- for years I have using a set of neoprene shin/leg guards over my breathables- old pair of neo waders cut to suit- works like a charm for bush and stream whacking.

ZachInstead of electric resistance heat how about a two part spray system, think about the heat created by two part epoxy’s, and exothermic chemicals already exist or even something similar to chemical hand warmers could work. I would take a chance on a $10 product( I’ve bought enough ice off pastes) that I could use on a current stick before I would buy a whole new rod and designers could also bring out rods that better utilized such products.

Yes, alcohol was involved when I came up with this idea last nightDec 5, 2009 at 1:10 pm #40481

MemberCosta Del Mar Green Mirror Cir Pol filters. So many times I’ve wanted to capture exactly what I see through my Costa’s but when you take them off the magic is gone….

MemberI’d like a rod that was 8 1/2 to 9 feet for casting and fishing which shrunk to 6 1/2 feet immediately upon hooking the fish for ease in fighitng and landing it.
