The man does deserve his props.  If you count the myriad variations on his initial design, I think I can throw a few more in here:

    Piranha

    Xingu River Peacock Bass

    Ditto

    Atlantic Bonefish

    Crappie

I’ll add some more when I have combed the archives.

Nice topic for a thread!  Here is a 3 Cast clouser Slam from a couple days ago.

Sorry for this one below – I took the pic with my Black Berry.  Fly is out of mouth, but he ate a Clouser painted up to look like an Apache Fry, one day fishing with my good friend Paulito Escobar.

Seriously Z I know you most likely get told how good your stuff is all the time, but those photos… the color is awesome.

The color you see in my images is mostly the result of using fill flash properly, setting a low ISO and a slow shutter speed, and adjusting white balance correctly.

Drifter, that is too funny.  I have almost the same pics from Callaway except with a black Clouser style fly.

No pics handy to share but I have been lucky enough to take a casting lesson from Mr. Clouser which completely changed my technique and skill level.

The color you see in my images is mostly the result of using fill flash properly, setting a low ISO and a slow shutter speed, and adjusting white balance correctly.  White balance is one of the biggest factors in whether an image pops or not.  Your first bass image there could easily look just like mine; it is showing a lot of gray pixels, however.  That’s the kind of subtle adjustment that RAW allows you to make to punch it up.  I am away from my home computer now but I’ll try to remember to show you later.

Thanks Z, I shoot in Raw 100% – I guess I just don’t have Post skills down yet.

Chartreuse Clouser (or maybe I should say Clouser-ish – somewhat resembling a Clouser)

The pics are from an outing late last spring. They are no where near the quality of the pics on this board (just point and shoot) but I figured with a tribute to “The Man” I had to post.

I live and work about 15 mnutes from his shop. Many a lunch hours spent spent with a quick run to his place for the latest update and advice. The Susky has taken a lot of hits lately but we are hoping for the best.

New to the board, but I figured I would give my contribution….

Remember, when using circle hooks, wait for your quarry to start running with the line before setting.

Going through the posts after registering here…great post on Bob Clouser.

Was wondering; I tie Clousers and probably have more bucktail than a local herd of deer, however, I purchased the video of Bob and Lefty teaching bass fishing with fly. They talk about the new translucent materials for tying the Clouser…..
do any of you use these materials, what are they and where do you get them?

    Thanks,
