That&#8217;s a purse. \u00a0A man-purse. \u00a0A &#8216;murse&#8217;, if you will.&#8221; \u00a0And while I might be tempted to respond, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9wQLhYA25-c\">Hey, there&#8217;re\u00a0Skittles in there<\/a>!&#8221; honestly I have to agree with you. \u00a0This is a satchel, a handbag, a&#8230; purse. \u00a0But the <a href=\"http:\/\/fishpondusa.com\/product\/detail\/el-nino-guide-pack\/2428\">El Ni\u00f1o Guide Pack<\/a>\u00a0is truly awesome; seriously.<\/p>\n<p>First and foremost, this isn&#8217;t quite a true sling-pack; it doesn&#8217;t resemble a hobo&#8217;s stick bag, like so many other of these products, but it does have sling-pack-like qualities, such as a set of attachment points and pouches which remain accessible in almost any configuration.<\/p>\n<p>What really makes this bag unbelievably solid is the\u00a0<strong>completely waterproof zipper.\u00a0<\/strong>That means this is a legit dry bag, one you can keep a real camera in. \u00a0(By the way, a lot of people have told me lately that this or that is waterproof, and I can tell with one look that they are wrong. \u00a0Real waterproof bags zip tight such that they form an air pillow when you squeeze them &#8212; you could use this as a seat in the boat and it wouldn&#8217;t lose pressure. \u00a0Water resistant products are all well and good, but I know from personal experience that you really don&#8217;t want to take them swimming.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.itinerantangler.com\/blog\/podcasts\/files\/2016\/02\/engp_net-e1454505879697.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3950\" src=\"http:\/\/www.itinerantangler.com\/blog\/podcasts\/files\/2016\/02\/engp_net-e1454505879697.jpg\" alt=\"engp_net\" width=\"339\" height=\"437\" \/><\/a>The other killer app this bag offers is its net system; you simply run a long handled net through a pouch slot at the back of the bag and it stays snug and secure under any circumstance. \u00a0It will even accommodate fishpond&#8217;s excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/fishpondusa.com\/product\/detail\/nomad-guide-net\/2063\">Guide Net<\/a>, assuming you&#8217;re tall enough.<\/p>\n<p>As far as comfort goes, I recently floated an entire day in a canoe trading off between shotgunning for ducks and stripping streamers for big brown trout. \u00a0(Success on the first, tantalizing failure on the second). \u00a0I did not realize I had left the El Nino around my shoulders until my boatmate pointed it out about four hours into the float. \u00a0It&#8217;s that comfortable. \u00a0In fact it kind of just disappears back there.<\/p>\n<p>While unconventional, I really think Fishpond hit this one out of the park. \u00a0With the addition of a simple secondary strap (which can be reconfigured for either right shoulder or left shoulder wear), this bag becomes a kind of form-fitting bike messenger bag offering tons of space, real waterproofedness, and an easy-wearing layout. \u00a0Great product. \u00a0And believe me, I did not expect to be saying that when I first took a look at it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rating: Five Stars out of Five<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Price: $199<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, I know what you&#8217;re thinking. \u00a0&#8220;Uh, Zach?
