\"\"<\/a>Welcome to The Itinerant Angler<\/a>. My name is Zach Matthews<\/a>. I’m the host of this site and an outdoor writer and photographer. I started this website in April 2005. While you’re here, I hope you visit the\u00a0Photoblog<\/a>, check out the\u00a0Bulletin Board<\/a>\u00a0and download\u00a0The Itinerant Angler Podcast<\/a>. It is one of the leading fly-fishing podcasts, with closing in on 200 episodes dating to 2006.<\/p>\n

Since 2006, I have been a regular contributor to a variety of outdoor publications, including American Angler<\/a>, Fly Tyer<\/a>, Fish & Fly<\/a>, Fly Rod & Reel<\/a>, Fly Fisherman<\/a>,\u00a0Garden & Gun<\/a>, Backpacker<\/a>, Kentucky Afield<\/a>, The Flyfish Journal<\/a>\u00a0and The Drake<\/a>. Many of my past articles are available in the Magazine\u00a0Articles<\/a> section of this site. \u00a0I’ve also provided general interest and travel writing for regional publications such as\u00a0Arkansas Life<\/a> magazine.<\/p>\n

I am an FFF certified fly casting instructor<\/a>. Every year, I travel to speak to TU and FFF groups, universities, and clubs. Please contact<\/a> me for a list of references if you are interested in having me speak or give casting demonstrations to your organization.<\/p>\n

When I’m not fly fishing, shooting pictures, or typing words, I’m a working trial lawyer<\/a> with McMickle, Kurey & Branch<\/a>\u00a0in Atlanta, Georgia. I went to law school at the University of Tennessee.<\/p>\n
