Thanks for the link FL.  It reminded me of the “window” that trout have to see through to the surface.  In any event, While color of the line may  make some small difference, I still think a line I can see and therefore manage better, will probably catch more fish, so I’m not going to worry to much about it.

Thanks for the feedback.  I’ve starting using “optic green” and agree it is much easier for these old and getting older eyes  😮 to see.  I find I’m doing a better job of line management which, I theorize, offsets any issues around the less than neutral color.

Besides, I’ve assumed that most fish will head for the hills if I line them, no matter what the line color.

Based on the comments here, sounds like I’m glad I ran down the the last 8′ XP 3 wt. I could find and now have on the way here from a Bozman shop.  I was hoping that the Z would still be like the XP in most ways, but perhaps not..  😮

Since I love the XP action, good thing I didn’t wait.
