It looks like the whole file is downloaded but that there is a hash check or something that fails. The error i get is that the source file could not be read.
Very strange if there is a good file on that server it should come in correct but now it looks like the file is or gets corrupt. Any chance you can make it a zip file?

Love the Seaducer tut Neal. The August Art Fly looks good too , only one thing. It would be nicer if you change the file names of the images now you see the nikon filenames. Just to make it perfect 🙂
My choice for a next topic would be feather selection.
I really really like it. Very good thinking putting youre camera in a ziplock and a nice result.

Ok i used Gallery2 some time ago for a project. It’s a database driven photo gallery and as i remeberd it’s easy to install on youre webserver and can hold loads off pics. It’s free.

I don’t have much experience with selling pictures but read a few topics like this one on dutch photo fora. In those topics there’s a pricing list that always pops up. It’s quite a long and good list of what you can and/or should get payed for ea a newspaper, mag, website or advertising photo. Isn’t there something like that in America?

Yes Rich but that Raidlike means that you still have the same specs as a standard raid.
Look at the drive configurator on the link you posted. Put in two 500G drives check the outcome and then put in a 350G and a 500G drive and check the outcome again. Thats the same as a Raid 1 config.
The one disk data redundancy is just the software partitioning one disk in two and sets these partitions in a Raid1. If the disk then breaks/crashes there will be no data left.
It is great that they build a box and wrote some software that configures the raid for you but i think for me it’s a bit on the pricy side for me. With a raid 6 controller you can build a cheaper and an even as good system. And yes it’s not easy but it’s a real nice challenge 🙂
And also good to keep in mind that there is no swapping disks for reasons other than that they are broken in any raid or beyondraid system.
What i would like to know about it is if i have 2 drives in it, can i swap out one of the drives every month or something and will it automatically rebuild the data? Â Henry, any idea on that?
Yes it will. Â It has data redundancy built in so that if any drive goes it will be rebuilt. Â Think of the Drobo as a fancy RAID setup. Â
We were using SyncBack here at work for a while and it worked out pretty well. Â There are a ton of features in the pro version. Â You can target single directories. Â You can also exclude or include files as needed. Â It will do versioning etc so you can have working copies of the same file. Â
Keep in mind that with a two disk config the raid configuration must be a raid 1. If it is set two raid 0 it won’t have any data redundancy and all data is lost (or atleast most of it) when a disk dies.
The downpart on a raid 1 config is that you can only use 50% of the total disk volume or the volume of the smallest disk.
My own WHS just fried out the motherboard so i’m also looking for a new storage server solution. Personally i’m going for a raid 6 solution with a hardware controller, this alows me to crash 2 Disks at the same time and still have all my data.

Olle, yeah you can only take advantage of 64 bit if you’re running the newer hardware too.  As for batch deleting: once everything is rated  go up to the edit menu and drop down to the select by rating and pick whatever you want from the fly out menu (one star, no star, etc), then hit delete (you’ll probably be prompted to decide if you want to delete from catalogue or the hard disk). Â
Ok so you do have to give them a rating. What i wanted to do was delete all unrated, flagged or collored. To bad you can’t do that. It feels natural to me you just want to rate what you like and those you dislike don’t deserve any rating and can be deleted. But that is also just my opinion. Â
That also means you need a 64 bit xp or vista Kurt. The deleting of youre non starred images can you do this as a batch, i looked for such a function yesterday but could not find it. Deleted the images i wanted by manual selecting.
Henry are you running the 2.4 version? Some hanging problems were fixed in this as i remember from reading the changelog.
