Sorry guys! I made some security changes on the server where i host my avatar pic and that caused the popup.

Think i’ll just renew my avatar hosting strategy 🙂

Anyway it should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Roy, bought a 8 Gig 133x and that works perfect. It takes 1400 raw files so i think one will do allthough it was very cheap

Give PhotoForge2 a look too. I bought that one before PSTouch was out and i was amazed what it can do. Think its even cheaper too.

And so little talent. I know I’m a johnny come lately in the photography world myself but I’m not actively trying to sell my works and I don’t market myself as a “photographer”. I’m working on my craft and if the opportunity comes to sell, I’ll do it. Till then I’m just having a great time.

It’s just frustrating to see all these folks marketing themselves as photographers  with “ART” for sale and when you look at their blurry images you can see they don’t yet have even the basics down. Craigslist is FULL of these folks.

If I were to ever put an ad in CL the title would be “You probably can’t afford me photography” just to separate myself from all the cheap photography clowns on there. It’s outa control!

I think this is a good thing. This raises the bar very high and like said somewhere above the guys who have talent will stand out above the rest of us.
A topic like this on a other forum made me look into some older film work by some of the ( on the other forum complaining) photogs and actually that work would not make it to any mag or even website now or even should not back then. So in my opinion people calling themselves a pro is not a new thing and also not only happening in photography.

    Hi Matt, site looks great!

Looking at it on my ipad now on a somewhat poor connection and it took a long time too load, when fully loaded it’s very fast because it loads everything in one time. If possible i would try to cut that in pieces so a visitor gets something on screen sooner. I also noticed i could not view single images, is that a choice or does that come with the template?

Got the 35 1.8 now and i love it. I was looking for an older 85 but i think i might just wait for the new one with a price like that.

Turning youre own grips is a good idea. Most of the “flor” grade rings you can buy all over the internet will give you a better result than a prefab grip. Most prefab grips have lots of pits and cracks filled with woodfiller, this is not easely recognised from a picture. If you have acces to a localshop who sells them this will be less off a problem offcourse, still sorting youre own rings will give the best result. Downside is that the learning curve is a bit steeper.

I now build a rod in ten hours (excl drying hours). My first was a set of three. I got two friends who wanted the same rod that i was planning to build. I offerd them to build them the rods for cost price so i had a good learning project and they had a good quality rod for a way low price. Id did cost me some. The first two grips i had to toss because off poor cork someone sold me.

Beware! Rodbuilding is like flyfishing and tying, very very addictive

Thumb up for the batson blanks. With a rx7 or rx8 blank you will have a very good blank for a good price.

Be carefull with buying kits. I build a z-axis for someone and the components really did not complement the high level blank. He bought the kit and then came too me for the build, the first and last time i build a rod that way.

    A!

B looks slighly out of focus on the colored dots of the sight. And i think the white cap/head is somewhat distracting.

Hi mike, nice flies! I’m planning to fish in YNP next june for a few days, any flies and water you can recommend?

I was watching “Yellowstones Hatches” again today, is that still an acurate indication they are giving in that movie or has the climate changed things?

    Thanks.
