Thanks for the welcome. My apologies for not providing my name – I didn’t realize that it was the norm. I’ll try to fix my profile.
I am Michael Phillippe. I live in Bethlehem, PA . I’ve fly fished for trout for over 30 years. Actually I learned to fly fish in Georgia in the mid-70’s. I fish primarily on the upper Delaware River now, although I figured out a few years ago that I had fished over 75% of Trout Unlimted 100 Most Beautiful Trout Streams in America. I built a wooden drift boat a couple years ago for the big water of the Delaware.
This one is technically not eligible for the as it was caught in March in Chile. But, it’s such a great picture of my son (a guide in Chile and Missoula, MT) and the largest trout of my 30+ years fly fishing, that I can’t help but post it. It is a 6.5+ brown taken in Patagonia.
If you are serioius about fly fishing literature, you should read some or all of the books by these authors (in no particular order of importance):

2. Thomas McGuane
3. Nick Lyons
4. John Gierach
5. Robert Traver, aka Paul Voelker
5. James Babb
6. Harry Middleton
7. Christopher Camuto
8. Paul Schullery
9. Charlie Fox
10. Roderick Haig-Brown (possibly the greatest fly fishing writer of the 20th century.This is not meant to be all inclusive. There are some really good writers out there today, including a lot of how-to books by Caucci, Borger, Wulff, LaFontaine to name a few.
