I’ve got the Action Optics, glass, photochromic, amber and recommend them for a number of reasons.

First, the glass, while heavier, doesn’t scratch as easily. The first thing I notice when I put them on is how much cleaner they are than my everyday plastic glasses. I really think glass is the way to go. The additional weight is not so much that it’s an issue.

Photochromic is nice, too. The change is subtle, but it definitely helps. What I like most is that they lighten up when it gets darker – like late in the day or when I’m in the shade. They are not real dark – like some others – so I can wear them very late in the day. Sometimes I forget I’ve even got them on when it’s nearly dark out. I like to leave them on as much as possible for the polarization. Be carefull that you don’t get glasses that are too dark – and hinder your vision in the shade.

I don’t remember the frame style, but they are suited to my large head. They also have wide sides, which cuts down on the light entering form the side, and helps your vision. They’re well made, though I did smash a pair once. Customer service was excellent when I got the frame replaced.
