I’ll probably have to do this in a couple posts.
My son and I just got back from Yellowstone.

We started with a float trip on the Madison and caught a few of these:

    And one of these:

I’m not sure why whitefish seem to get a bad rap.

The Madison was flowing strong but quite fishable:

We saw a bunch of these guys hatching:

We fished up blacktail deer creek and caught a bunch of these little guys:

and managed to hit an evening caddis hatch on the firehole (which is still fishable for now)

To help me always remember the trip, I just had to pick up one of these while out there:

Now, I’m back home in Kentucky wishing the view out of my bedroom window still looked like this:

    Tim,
My favorite part was the opportunity to spend some quality 1:1 time with my son away from Xbox, text messages and other distractions.

As for the fishing, the float trip on the Madison was a blast.

Our favorite walk/wade fishing was Blacktail Deer Creek and Nez Perce Creek.

We cut our teeth fishing the small freestone streams in the Smokey Mountains.

Girls fish.  If one or both of your girls shows an intetrest, go for it.  I saw several women fishing last week.
