Jun 18, 2010 at 6:19 pm #43703chris kenney MemberDove season is coming up, so keep your eyes peeled if you want a lightweight fishing shirt that is camo. Jun 18, 2010 at 6:51 pm #43704Zach Matthews The Itinerant Angler This is not the best pic of me ever but it does show the shirt and what it can produce. Jun 18, 2010 at 8:13 pm #43705Rolf Jacobsen MemberI said it the first time and I will say it again. A water proof glove for fly fishing that is light enough you can “feel” and has a neoprene cuff that is tight enough you can release fish without ever taking it off and your hand will stay dry. Joel YES!!!!! Jun 19, 2010 at 2:01 am #43706anonymous MemberJust got back from gander again… Gander mtn brand spring turkey shirt, 14.99, no cotton, big pockets, lightweight and only mediums left. Jun 19, 2010 at 8:13 am #43707seth knight MemberI would like to see: 1. A device to hold the rod while the fish is in the net. I have a home made rig set up to do this now but it is difficult to latch with one hand 2. A device to transport pontoons or float tubes back upriver that can be transported on the pontoon and will fit in the car. 3. A square stern canoe that is appropriate for car topping. All the ones I have seen are either too heavy to be carried over any real distance or do not have carrying yokes. 4. Water proof cellphones. Not water resistant, water proof. Seth Sorry Seth, I like mine in the car when I fish… Walkie-Talkies, now thats a better option. Jun 20, 2010 at 12:46 am #43709Adam McDowell MemberHemostats and clippers that float. I dropped a pair of hemo’s (the Dr. Slick ones that are scissors and hemos) overboard on my pontoon boat just last week. I sat there and watched them sink as I realized I didn’t have them attached to a zinger. oops. I second the felt replacement that does not foster the spread of invasives that will perform as well as felt. Jeff Sluder http://www.austinkayak.com/products/1203/Shakespeare-Xtools-Needlenose-Pliers.html these x-tools floating pliers are great. i have had a pair for 2 years and they still cut great, even with braided lines imho floating anything is good, regardless of the maker Jun 20, 2010 at 1:01 am #43710 Colin M.Member Colin M.Memberzach thats not a fishing shirt!!!!! Jun 21, 2010 at 12:05 pm #43711david simmons MemberThis is not a product that a fly fishing company can do much about, but I wish there was an Epipen auto-injector that was smaller, more compact for those of us who are allergic to bees. The present Epi-pen is cumbersome and is especially awkward to carry if you’re not wearing a vest that day. Jun 21, 2010 at 3:00 pm #43712regan c. kenyon jr. MemberI would like to see: 1. Seth Seth: Also, you can use this around your waist: Jun 23, 2010 at 4:27 pm #43713jt benton MemberAn Iphone app and extension that would turn it into a satellite phone. Jun 24, 2010 at 9:36 pm #43714John S. MemberI’d find the following to be helpful: 1) Jun 25, 2010 at 12:42 am #43715 Colin M.Member Colin M.MemberJohn, Olympus makes a stylus camera that is the size of a pack of cigarettes, has a strap you can attatch to your wrist or landyard or whatever, also, for the bottle thing, a carabeener (i butchered that spelling) and a sig bottle or name your reusable bottle brand would solve your problem, also if you attach it to your wading belt, it can help stay cool while you’re in the water…(if you’re up to your waste)…i try to limit my throw away water bottle usage… Jun 25, 2010 at 12:53 am #43716John S. MemberColin, many thanks on the carabeener and sigg bottle suggestion. Jun 25, 2010 at 11:38 am #43717chris kenney MemberJohn, Sounds like you dont want a backpack at all, but if you are not opposed to it….look at the smallest camelback they make….like 40 ounces. Jun 25, 2010 at 3:42 pm #43718Mike Anderson MemberKevlar stripping finger (for Sharkskin Streamer Express) and ceramic/alloy fly guides on 9,10,12, wt fly rods. Jun 25, 2010 at 5:17 pm #43719anonymous MemberI tried ceramic guides on a 10 wt. not a good idea. Jun 25, 2010 at 8:36 pm #43720allyn fincher MemberJohn, I would second the use of a camelback. I have done field work in New Mexico and Texas in the summer and it was a life saver. Dehydration is a serious threat in Texas summers. Drinking from the straw is much easier than a water bottle and you are more likely to do it. I really need a way to store tying materials like feathers and fur. I am currently using plastic zip lock bags with binder clips on the pegboard in what my wife calls the man cave. My tying room got moved out to the garage when my 3 year old daughter got into the tying materials. I have an air conditioned room off the garage that I have hung pegboard in, but I have yet to come up with a way to store all the stuff so that I can find it and see what I have. I like having this problem, but I would also enjoy a solution. Jun 26, 2010 at 7:28 am #43721Morsie MemberThe best camo fishing shirts i own are made by Aqua Design, just brilliant. I spent some time last week with a guy from an Aussie company called Sea to Summit, check them out on the web. He saw my homemade Wxtex waterproof camera bag conversion and I have sent some design specs to them to see if they can just improve it in a couple of ways. Its a very good option and with a just a little work would be brilliant. I hope they do it because I think the market worldwide is pretty vast. They have some other great products, the merino wool lined waterproof socks should have considerable appeal, there’s a new breatheable product they’re going to use to make water proof gloves from, a lot of really interesting stuff coming out of their designers heads. On the same trip I saw a prototype for a new line winder that just blew my socks off with its effective simplicity. Its still in the prototype stage but if it can be built commercially (numbers) it will be a killer product. Plenty of great stuff out there, I think you just need to look outside fly fishing. Its not a fashion crime to wear gear from other sports….. ;D Morsie Jun 26, 2010 at 8:06 pm #43722Chris Beech MemberKeep me posted on the line winder, mate 🙂 Best Regards, Beechy
