Yeh, thanks Neal, but he recommended cutting point hooks…
So last year we had them break, not the hook, but the point breaks off on that hard mouth, admittedly, the average fish is 80 to 90 and the hooks broke on the bigger fish, over 120…
So Dean doesn’t want to use them for the deep water hooks, I am going to pres him to use them on the flats hooks.
I am tying the majority of my flies on cutting points, but agree with Dean about the deep water hooks.
Last year I had a point on a Mustard 68SZ, a spear point, roll on a 150+ fish, had it on for 7 minutes and the hook never penetrated… probably didn’t hit it hard enough… I did leave bits on my fighting glove in the line, still there, embedded for life…
But the fish I did boat was on a cutting point…
