The wife and I were given a guided trip (plus two night stay………hip thrust) as a wedding present and we are cashing in next week. The guide said one of their best producing streamers is a Bow River bugger.

However, I suck………..no, I really really suck at spinning deer hair and I was wondering if there is some easy button that would be a good substitute?

    Please advise.

    For your troubles……………

    1) EP fiber brush
    2) Craft fur spun head like the sasquatch or chubby muffin
    3) Wool stacked or spun
    4) Heavily hackled head will push a lot of water
    5) Heavy hackle with a cone head
    6) Small popper head with wooly bugger body – see Bob Petti’s flies at Fly fish ohio
With some GSP thread deer stacking deer hair is not really as difficult as many people make it out to be

Easy button = use the guides flies or buy a few.

If you start practicing now you might have one or two good ones by next week :D. Otherwise the stacked wool would be pretty good.

I would send you a half dozen but they aint going to make it in time from Australia.

I’ll give the craft fur a shot. If that fails, l’ll see if the shop has some white EP fiber brushes.

Dont give up on the deer hair. It’s the easiest of any material.

    Long time, no posting…

It strikes me that this is a sinking fly.

In exchange for the shot of the carp scales, which is awesome by the way, I will tell you how I got around spinning tons of deer hair all winter to tie my sex-dungeons.

If I can spin deer hair, anyone can do it.
