    I have fished the 1st meadow and below the campground but will going to 3rd meadow in July. I want to pack as little gear as possible and am wondering if a 8 1/2 4 weight Winston BIIX will be enough or should I pack a 5 or 6 weight.

    I’ve used my Winston IM6 4wt there but a 5 wt probably would be a better choice.

    5 Weight at least….IMO.

    The wind often picks up in the afternoon and this is when you’ll want to chunk those big foam hoppers and chernobyls. A 4 weight would be tough to fish with.

    On the other hand….late evening when the wind lies down and the tiny BWOs start coming off….a 4 weight would be fun.
