Cloudveil Waist High Waders

I am interested in waist highs and have heard good things about the 2 offering from Cloudveil (Hellroaring, Crystal Creek) but read on their site that the zipper is only water resistant. This seems like it could be an issue if you step in a deeper spot. Obviously you don’t buy waste highs for deep wading but it seems like this would really limit you.
Any owners out there?
