My buddy Gary Krebs and I got out on the Tippe’ this morning at daybreak for an amazing day of fishing.  We caught fish.  Lots of fish.  This was the first time I got to take my D7000 out and was nervous as can be.  I’m still learning the camera, but after today I want to take it with me everywhere I fish.

Before we even launched, Gary was into a smallie

Gary took some cellphone pics of a few of my fish

Biggest fish of the day for me.  17″ and chunky as that kid from the Goonies.  Gary and I had a double here.  That’s how we ended the day.

The landowners where we launched had rescued some racoons, three of these little guys were in a huge cage in their backyard.

    And just cause

Nice bass.  How many did you get altogether?

Word to the wise,  Raccoons carry some serious parasites and diseases-baylisascaris, and Leptospirosis.   I know three vets that will not let them on their premises when people bring them in.  It is highly discouraged that folks don’t play with raccoons.

By 8am, we each had ten.  We’d lost count by about 10am.   I’ve spent almost five years fishing this river and never had a day like today.  The Tippe’ will almost always produce some decent fish, but I’ve never seen one after another.

As to the racoons, the lady offered to let me pet them, I graciously declined.  She also told me not to be alarmed if we launch at their place and a coon tried to run up your leg.  It’s only looking for cheese.   😮

it appears the river was “tippy” enough that you needed outriggers 😮

but it looks like an awesome trip with some sweet fish landed!
