Colvin & I enjoy getting out every year about this time to photograph the big birds. Fun change of pace.

Amazing Jay. You guys do a great job. Were you shooting with a snooted speedlight or did you just have great outdoor light?

Hey Zach, I can’t tell you how many days/hours I have out now waiting for the right light, location, etc. to get these shots. All of these were shot on a 300 2.8 coupled with a 1.7 TC extender. No flash on these. While I do own a few PW Flex TT5’s and a Mini TT1, I have not strobed these birds. Traditional sync speeds of 1/250th would probably be fine on stationary birds or could be bounced. I have yet to do any of this.

Nice work Mr. Morrison. The Whiteheaded Largebird’s arrival is something I look forward to every Winter.

Thank you Tim and Jason. The eagle migration through this area of the country is always a high point of the Winter months.
