Anybody live near Spokane WA? I bought a boat and cant get to it.

I bought a 2013 clackacraft out of a salvage auction in Spokane WA. I have to pick it up by next Monday, but may not be able to arrange shipping by then. Does anyone on here A) have the ability to pick up a drift boat in Spokane and store it short term and B) have the desire for a fun filled weekend of steaks, beer, and fishing next time they are any where near Georgia???
This is a hilarious story. I told Jay to contact Clackacraft about getting some work done to restore the boat. They were like, uh, we know that boat… Let’s just say there’s a reason it went to the salvage auction.
But, I have seen Jay’s abilities with his striper boat and I have faith, brother! It will make an awesome story, too.

Just out of reach. I could have it sent to a storage unit up there, but still have no idea how to get it here cheap.
Jay, have you considered calling a local fly shop to see if someone could help you out? I would assume you might be able to find a local guide / shop rat / fish bum that would be sympathetic to your situation and would be willing to pick up the boat and either drop it off at a storage unit or store it short-term for you. Looks like a fun project.

I thought about that yesterday, but it looks like shipping is not going to be as pricey as I initially thought.
I actually just got back from paying for it. Looks like I am now an official drift boat owner! Now I just have to accomplish the small task of shipping it from one coast to another. I think I am going to leave it on CL just to keep my options open until the very last second.Once / If I get it here to GA I will start a new thread on the rebuild process. It should be interesting for sure…
Btw I just caught that this was a 2013. Somebody bought it and let a T-rex have a dance party inside it in less than six months!
Glad you got it sorted Jay. I’m looking forward to seeing your rebuild. I too would love to know what happened to the boat. I have some friends who have gotten into some seriously sketchy situations in their drift boats (flipped, pinned, etc.), and none of them came out with damage anywhere close to this boat.
Hey speaking of, does anyone know how the inner mold of these boats is assembled? Jay’s boat looks like the mold sheared along the sides. Is this a full inner insert or just basically panels that are epoxied to the walls? My suggestion was to run some extremely heavy duty epoxy around in there and then ratchet-strap the boat closed until it sets, then sand/glass the transition points where it sheared away.

Just got off the phone with the shipping company. Looks like this is happening. I ought to have my hands on it by Tuesday morning at the latest.
I’m guessing the owner backed the boat into a building or wall….causing the sides to buckle outward….separating the interior from the hull. This could explain the missing casting deck as well as the damage to the stem. It appears the anchor pulley on the stern may be bent as well. All this is consistent with my theory. 🙂
Good luck Jay. Buy plenty of cloth and West epoxy.
I like Steve’s idea too. Also consistent with it being a 2013 boat — new owner, no trailer experience. Might be easier to fix, Jay.
Jay has a fiberglass shop at his disposal so this is going to be interesting to say the least.
