    Hey guys-

I have invited Paul Dieter over here to discuss this stuff with us and I hope he’ll come, since he seems to be in the same vein of thinking of most of the guys and girls who hang out here.

He has modified his pontoon boat and created a fly photography stage, and he has some great pictures explaining how he did it here:

I want to ask Paul, hoping he’ll come read this, where he got the acrylic tubing for his improved stage, and moreover what he thinks of blue acrylic as a backdrop.

    Hey Zach

I’ll try and keep up with this thread. It should be a nice diversion from all the issues I’ve got right now putting a second story on my house

Acrylic tubes like that shouldn’t be too hard to come by somewhere near you. You could even use a plastic pitcher that you cut the bottom out of (this would be much more rigid than the ammonia bottle approach).

I just use a normal 150 watt flood light in a cheap desk armature and a cannon G5 and photoshop CS.

Don’t make it more complicated than you need to. 😉

    Have fun
    Paul

BTW here’s some shots of this week’s home improvement.
