    Hey guys-

    This is an interesting read:

It seems the casting competitions of yore are dying out.

Casting competitions make no sense to me anyway.

I don’t have a problem with the idea of a casting competition, per se, just like I wouldn’t have a problem with an archery competition.

I was really suprised when the OLN Masters was cancelled, I was really sad to see it go.

Could it possibly be that John Barrett took his Ford sponsorship from the Fly Fishing Masters and used it so he could go ‘Flyfishing the World’? :-/

Casting competitions rock, plain and simple. Are they for everyone? Of course not. Just as World Cup Soccer, American pro sports and bull riding aren’t for everyone. Good casting takes SKILL and does not come cheaply. Behind everyone who dares enter a casting competition a lot of sweat equity is involved.
You can have your fishing competitions.

Agreed Zach, standardize the gear for the casting but possible add an ‘unlimited’ class.
