I bought Ricks raft 4 years ago and have stored it in the garage on the trailer but I would like to deflate it and take it in the basement to free up space to do some winter cabinet making, any suggestions, tips or caviots about long term storage.

    Hi Mark,
I’ve owned a 13′ Maravia self bailer since 2006 and I store it every winter. I’ve had good success making sure that the raft is clean and dry, rolling it up as tight as I can and then sticking it in a basement, shop or garage, basically anywhere out of the sun and dry. The only other tip I have is to store it on a warm day, my raft is hard enough to roll when warm, the couple of times that I’ve done it when cold out were much more difficult, especially if you’re doing it solo. If anyone has additional tips, I’d love to hear them!

Wipe it down with this before storing:

    Then do what Mike said.

    Thanks Guys,
My boat is 12′ , about how big do you think it would be folded, my idea is to build a box to store it in to keep her cat and the occasional mouse away, my thought is that a 6x4x4 box should work I’ll wait until it’s folded to build it but am I way of.

    Hi Mark,
I’m not able to look at my rolled up raft right now, but I’m pretty sure that mine, folded in thirds and rolled, would fit in a 6x4x4 box easily.
