Check that out. It’s helpful to understand what causes the tailing loop, whether you’re teaching someone through it or dealing with it yourself.

The key contribution for me is the brief discussion at the end re: crossed loops and casting in two planes for Kreh style/Belgian/saltwater casting, which is what almost all of us do, and which is a perfectly legitimate casting form as compared to single plane, over-the-shoulder casting (which he calls “candy cane” casting). I’ve seen beast casters like Steve Rajeff, Tim Rajeff, and Brian O’Keefe throw single plane casts well into the 120′ range in competition, but I’ve thrown two-plane casts within feet of that (specifically 114′ with the same gear on the same stage in the same conditions), and I am no Rajeff. I’d say the differences between those two styles are (1) immaterial to fishing conditions even if massive casts are needed and (2) largely the result of Rajeff’s ultra-refined technique versus my comparative sloppiness.
