Obama Issues Executive Order on Bristol Bay

Pretty awesome. He also indirectly references the work done by Scott Hed and the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska in his youtube video announcing the action:

While this is good news for Bristol Bay overall, it doesn’t
affect Pebble. The President’s action only covers offshore oil and
gas development, and we still have to fight to get Pebble stopped if
we want to protect the headwaters areas from mining development.

Our fight is fundamentally different in that Obama was able to use
Executive power to issue the offshore moratorium and we need to
navigate a more difficult Congress to protect EPA’S use of the Clean
Water Act in Bristol Bay.
