Tips for Public Land Archery Hunting?

Thanks to the generosity of Andrew Wright, I now have a bow. I’ve had it restrung and tuned and I’ve been practicing. I’m hitting the bullseye at 30 yards, which is about as far as I’d want to try to shoot anyway, so I am starting to feel like I can really do this bow hunting thing.

I’ve also got a climbing stand which I used for the first time last weekend. Crazy new experience but I am getting it all figured out.

Now the hard part: hunting public land. Any of you old school hardcore types have any awesome tips? I’m not asking for secret spots at all, just general practical information that I may not have thought of.
