I just got back from North Carolina Thursday. We stayed in a cabin just south of Hot Springs, on Spring Creek. I had about a half mile of creek all to myself, but it was a delayed harvest stocked stream that opened to taking in July, so it was pretty much fished out. I was able to catch a lot of small fish, but the average length was about 8 inches. My son wanted to go out in the kayaks on Saturday, so we went to our favorite flat to see what we could do. It was quite a different catch.

It is a snook. It is the largest I have ever caught at 32 inches, although they do get bigger. They are a lot of fun to catch. Hard fighters and jumpers. Caught it on a large gurgler using an 8wt.

Bob I’m afraid you’ve discovered the secret of inland angling: really good photoshop on all our pictures… 🙂
