    Nice fish, sucks that he felt the need to kill it. Plenty of twenty pound browns get caught every year in Arkansas and other places blessed with big fish, then released to see if they could grow even bigger.

    I really wish we as a culture didn’t promote this kind of thing with state record size lists. We as anglers really ought to reconsider that. At a minimum there should be a catch and release protocol. You could easily weigh this fish in a mesh bag, on a boga grip, without doing it harm. All you have to do is tare the bag on the scale afterwards and subtract however many ounces it is; they do that all the time in science labs.
