Going to be in the keys for a few days next week and wanted to take the family out, so I’m looking for any information you guys might have for renting boats, and also guided tours.
I didn’t pack anything but a 5wt bass rig, but if anyone has a kid friendly guide that might happen too.
Always like to support the people that treat others members well.
    thanks guys

There are a lot of places that rent kayaks down there. On place I would surely visit is Bahia Honda Park. It is absolutely beautiful. I think there is a kayak rental place inside the park but I don’t know about the rates.

One place to check for boat and/or kayak rentals is on Big Pine Key. http://www.bigpineboatrentals.com/Home_Page.html
There rates are pretty reasonable and they have a variety of choices.

Another place to check is Living the Dream Watersports. http://livingthedreamflorida.com/ I have seen the place, but have never rented from them. Their rates look pretty good.

Scarlett Ibis Tours offers rentals and tours but I don’t know what there rates are like.

Have fun and enjoy the sun!

Bahia Honda times two. Be sure to take the snorkel excursion out to Luie (sp?) Key. Amazing protected marine sanctuary.

thanks guys, I found a group that does tours the kids seem interested in that, I’m putting in a vote for another snorkeling trip so we shall see.
Looks like it will be deep sea fishing, the kids have never been on the ocean and this trip really isn’t about me.

on another note I’m going to store my raft in Columbia Mo. while my daughter is in school,so if anyone is headed there and wants company I will be looking for reasons to visit her, didn’t think it would be so tough to have one leave home.

We ended up taking a private tour with Blue Planet in Key West, the kids loved it got to see up close lots of marine life and learn how the Eco system works there, amazingly we stopped at the Lorelei(best fish sandwich) for lunch the next day and they were picking out jelly fish etc. looking over the railing.
