Chad SimcoxMemberI wanted to share some of the promos I have cut over the past few months. I’m lucky in that my career in television has combined with my love of fishing, serving as the Senior Promotions Editor at WFN. As such, I am responsible for writing and creating promos for the network and our shows, as well as developing the network’s brand along with a talented group of artist and marketers.
I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and create graphics and do final color grading in Adobe After Effects CS6.
Here are some of my favorite projects I have recently created. (sorry for the links, I’m not sure if I can or how I would embed the video into the forum)

Ben CochranMemberOutstanding and very impressive work, Chad!!!! I don’t know what it is about me, I love watching video’s but lack the desire to take it up. With the growth in that sector and my access to an endless supply of professional instructors and material, I know I may need to reevaluate my position and find the inspiration to do so. Nonetheless, very impressed with the entirety of your work! 🙂

Chad SimcoxMemberThanks for the compliments. Video is a crazy rabbit hole to go down.
I’ve been working in television production/video production since ’99 and it’s one of those careers that there is always room to grow. There are always new programs to learn for post production, new tools for shooting and new techniques to attempt and maybe even master!
Having seen technology change over the years it amazes me what can be done on any budget level these days. There was a time when a quality video camera would cost no less than $5,000 on the lowest end of the spectrum. It’s an interesting time as the video market grows. With more people looking at more screens than ever, the opportunity to have an audience (for entertainment or marketing) is bigger than ever, though quite a bit more fragmented. I love that the world of fly fishing has embraced video as a way to showcase those shared experiences from around the world. There are so many talented film makers creating content that transports the viewer to the water. Even if you’ve never been to the filming locations or hooked into the showcased species, you’ve likely lived out those moments of perfect casts, missed rises, spooked fish and tight lines with one a special fish on the end.
At work, we refer to the young blood of fly fishing as the snowboarders of the fishing world, breathing excitement and energy into the sport, making fishing look cool to non anglers by leading the way through a new style of video content.http://society6.com/grainfarmer Fly Fishing and Landscape open edition Photography prints.
