    Hey guys-

Well, it is official.  Lauren and I are driving out to Montana on assignment for American Angler.  (Well I am attending and Lauren is taking pictures in and around Yellowstone to add to our database).

If any of you are going to be in the Sheridan/Twin Bridges area let me know, and I’d sure appreciate any tips or tricks you may know about the area.

    Les-

We are new to Montana and we are looking into getting there a few days early so as to camp in or around Yellowstone.

A full year out of state license is a steal at $50.00 in Montana (last year’s anyway). The crowds at Yellowstone are legendary on opening day, but my sense is that if you have legs, you can hike in a ways and get to some lonely water.

As far as the tax/law end, keep good and complete records of your income and expenses and put it on a Schedule C until you want to create an entity. Then worry about what kind of entity you want to be. It may depend on how much you want to spend on professional services at first – lawyer, accountant, etc. Definitely see an accountant who can tell you about the business planning part of it. Someone who can only prepare your taxes won’t necessarily be in a position to discuss the pluses and minuses of the the different options.

    Good luck!

No problemo, Zach – remember free advice is usually worth what you paid for it!

Have a great time. Yellowstone (in my humble opinion) is one of God’s greatest

    Thanks for the recommendation, Guy.

Do you happen to know what the camping arrangement is within the park?

Zach… There are 7 campgrounds that are 1st come 1st served. There are another 5 campgrounds that can be reserved ahead of time by calling Xanterra Parks and Resorts at 307-344-7311. Fees are $12.00 to 17.00 a night. There are also back country permits available at ranger stations. Camping there will be at designated campsites and stays vary. Info at ranger stations.

Sir Zach, I’ll be out there too at that time.
