That’s a great review/article, thanks for posting it David. Hmmm, looks pretty enticing…
…anyone want to buy a lightly used Lumix LX3? 🙂

MemberI couldn’t resist putting my hands on one at the local Best Buy. I still don’t know where these cameras fit in, in a professional setting, but they certainly are sexy. The screen is the sharpest, brightest I have seen, and the focusing pops point to point. It’s about time manufacturers abandoned the low end (to camera phones) and concentrate on the middle and upper end.
This system is the first new system that’s tempted me in awhile. The lenses aren’t all that fast, but how much does that really matter on this level?
Now, just come out with a waterproof version, and it’s all over. Time to read up on this system.
— they make an f mount adapter for it – full functionality according to Galbraith article

MemberHi Zach,
I’m thinking one of these
As I already have a D700 but I’m not taking out the D700 on the boat or crossing any rivers anytime soon
Also, I already have the Nikon editing software that is very handy
Should be the go for fly fishing or extreme weather

FWIW, Here’s a blog I like by a pretty successful pro photog, and he pretty much thinks it should be called a Nikon FAIL.

MemberI’ve been using the Panasonic GF1, hoping for it to be a smaller alternative to take along when I didn’t want to carry a DSLR. Overall, I like it very much. It’s definitely not a pocket camera, but there are quite a few lenses available for it that allow it to cover things a typical P&S won’t. For instance, there’s a 7-14mm (14-28mm equiv in 35) that’s great. The LCD screen certainly isn’t a viewfinder of the likes of that of a DSLR, and is at its worst in bright light. There is an accessory hot-shoe mounted EVF, and it’s an improvement in bright light. The images are actually quite good. Given that it is half the size, and about half the price of DSLR equivalents, the image quality is far better than half as good. I’m pleased enough with it that I’ll probably get the soon-to-be-released GX1, relegating the GF1 to backup status.
So-o-o-o-o many choices!

MemberLove the look of the camera, but to me the lens is slow.
