Just wanted to introduce myself and somehow happened to pick the photography section to do so. I have been occasionally looking at this forum for a few years and have decided to take the plunge.

Zach, I missed your presentation at Troutfest because I was volunteering. I really hope to catch it another time.

I would like to say that most of the photos that are posted on here are amazing. That said, I am fairly new to the SLR world and still feeling my way around.

My hobbies are limited to: fly fishing, bird hunting, fly tying, backpacking, photography.

Below are a few pics of my own. Like I said, I’m still learning. Thanks for looking.

I certainly love the fish and scenery, but that is one good looking hunting buddy. He/She is obviously well-trained. I could never get mine to be that obedient around a Doken.

    Thanks for the compliments.

She is a GSP and her name is Hazel. She is almost 17 months and is bird crazy.

We only mess with the planted birds as a warm up to the season. East Tennessee is home so we hunted around her a good deal last year and were able to find a bird or two.

We are no stranger to travel either. Got to make two trips up north last year and did really well. We will return to the north woods this October and then head out to Kansas in November to to tangle with the pheasants.

Zach, did you ever get a chance at a grouse last season?

    Welcome to the forum!

As far as hobbies go, you’ve clearly picked the best ones.

    Jason –

No, but we had some kinda freak snowstorms that messed me up.

No, but we had some kinda freak snowstorms that messed me up.  I have some different land scouted this year that (thank God) is a tiny bit less vertical.

We dealt with the snow. Hard to hunt in but easy to track em when there on the ground.

I don’t know what “less vertical” grouse hunting is. Are you sure your not quail hunting?
