Good, moderately-priced Compact Binoculars

[Phil Monahan]

I’m looking to buy my old man a pair of compact binoculars for around $200. He lives near a big marsh and wants to be able to check out wildlife and such when he goes for a walk. I figure many of you know lenses well and probably have binocs, as well.

Anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks,

Phil

Best buy in the industry is refurbished Nikons.

Phil, if you can’t find any decent refurb’s, take a look thru cabelas – Nikon, Leupold/Windriver, and even the Cabelas (they are more than likely made private label by one of the big guys anyway) brand are great choices.

I would also put in a plug for Nikons.
