    We’ve just had some water damage to our house caused by a burst water pipe and it offered my insurance company an opportunity to suggest a “high value items” policy for my camera equipment.

    If you ever have or intend to sell photos, check to see if company will still insure your gear.

    High Value Item coverage is likely to be more expensive than a simple personal articles policy.

    Don’t link the policy to your homeowners insurance.
