I find this rather bizarre…
TS Lens’s are an expensive tool and designed with a purpose – Infinite Focus along a plane.

Not sure if this neccesarily answers your question but….
Doing ” off plane shift/tilt” adjustment stuff has been around for a very long time in various-large/med/ formats and more lately it seems in D-slr. Like any other “look” including view camera parralax/deep focus corrected work it is is just that …
The real reason a lot of people have the wide TSE’s is the very large image circle they throw makes for high quality in the corners of the image.
The movements are a bonus IMHO.At the time I got the 24 TSE it was better then the 16-35 and 24-70 L zooms @ 24mm.
Now I have the 24 1.4L II and it’s become my main wide lens for work stuff.
If I wasn’t a people photographer, I would have got the new 24 TSE for the movements.I also just got the 17 TSE and it’s flat out awesome for such a wide lens, again thanks to the huge image circle.
Agree the bendy stuff gets a little same same, but most fishing stuff is looking a bit that way to me these days – is that old age or boredom ?

So the real question, why in the hell is everyone “snowglobing” the shit out of these lens’s?  😉  Seriously.
😮 Jay, I had to Google the definition of that word . . . whoooaaa . . . I assume you mean, “to act with authority.”
I would buy if it is high on the list ……and it is but below a 50 1.2 and 24 II ….To really grasp the effect you need to see these pics on full screen

Holy Moly.  I thought it was a reference to the way in which these lenses can make a scene look like a miniature model, or like something inside of a snow globe.  I need to get out and experience the world a little more.  In the mean time, I promise to never use that word in front of my children.  Or anyone else’s, for that matter.  😉

I guess I need to google some of these terms before I post them in the future , ROFL!
LMAO – well, snowglobing isn’t something for which the meaning I’d have expected to learn here.

So Dave by “around here” do you mean IA, home, or in the country town you’ve recently moved to? Did you read right down through the definitions?  😀
