So i made it out bow hunting last night, kinda of… I took my sisters boyfriend who is new to the game, but looked a lot like a pro. We were really hoping/concentrating on getting him his first deer, but they were uncooperative at best. I did fire off some frames, and i was pretty happy with the results.

This was more of a test than anything, to see how it would go with a camera up in a tree. And it wasn’t bad. I definitely came away with a lot of ideas for how to improve things. One being that seeing the eyes or at least a portion of the face is really important in making the viewer connect to the image. I had quite a few shots “looking over the shoulder” and they are neat, but just don’t seem to connect like the ones with the face in it. I didn’t give a lot of direction, mainly because i wasn’t sure how comfortable my “model” was with a wide angle jammed in his face.
I think the resize from the forum software is robbing some sharpness, and i don’t feel like uploading separate images right now… feel free to check them in the blog linked below.
