    One of the rubber inserts (the glued on one on the right rear) of my D80 started peeling up where my thumb hits it.

    Nope, Nikon replacement only and it’s not cheap. Around the office, when the rubber starts peeling on our D2’s I just use a bit of gorilla glue on them.

    Yup. Glue ’em. Hard to believe Nikon can’t do a better job in design … don’t get me started.

    the spring on my D70 flash broke off and Penn camera told me it would be several hundred bucks to get it fixed. wtf!

    option a: walk around with flash up all time
    option b: spend hundreds of bucks
    option c: 1″ piece of duct tape to hold down when not in use

    i went with c.

    I cleaned the parts off with naptha. (lighter fluid)
