Looks like someone is finally throwing out all the old school, evolutionary

    Yeah Bro,
I saw the add for that in DPP…Did you happen to see the estimated street price? We better get a 2nd and 3rd job. Five years until the general populace can even think of buying one?

Some amazing stuff happening at that end of town.

But it is one thing to make the most amazing Video/still camera thingy ever and charge a fortune for it, it’s another to get people to buy it in a flat market.

Everyone now knows the early adopters get the problems and a very high price.

That said, I would trade anyone of your mothers for the 645 or 617’s when they come out.. 😀

I have a feeling it’s not going to be that long before a commercial photographer is going to need to be set-up for motion as well as stills.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

I just want the line between want and need to get a little closer to intersecting!

Looks like a high end commercial setup.

The thing is that it will be a door stop in a couple years no matter how good it is now, that’s the pace of things.

So you really have to be spinning up the big invoices to justify the cost.

A good friend of mine has the RED one camera and it’s great. I’ve seen mixed results from it due to lens choice, but I’m convinced it’s a great camera and can’t wait to see the next round of cams.
It’s well known that there were a lot of issues with the software builds on the camera when it was first released to the public. But thats part of what makes this company so great. They get the product into the hands of the people to do the testing and then take feedback from users to make changes/upgrades or address issues that arise in the working world.

And the price may be steep, but it’s nothing compared to the cost of a high quality new 35mm camera package! Then you have to buy rolls of film and pay for processing on top of that.
