My wife is in the flower business (think geraniums and impatients), so May and June are a very busy time around our house, with not alot of time for fishing.  I finally got cleared for takeoff for a one day blast up north.  The weather cooperated, sort of – rainy and wet.  Great streamer fishing weather, not so great for taking photos with expensive cameras.  I wanted to do a bit more of a documentary type essay like we have been seeing here, but the rain kinda screwed it up.  Anyways.. here ya go.

I dig that last shot! It would make a good 2 page spread or poster. Interesting color rendering, almost a sepia green.

Thanks guys.  Its a cool river, thats for sure.  It looks so good in may and june, with all the fresh new leaves and grasses coming up.  I wish i could spend more time up there this time of year.

The boat is actually a cedar strip power drifter, built in michigan.  Its owned by a local guide, Walt Grau.  Hell of a guy, been fishing with him for over 15 years, and I don’t know anyone who is more innovative, passionate, and dedicated to the sport.  (Zach, if your reading this, he would be a great podcast!)  I’m sure i have some more pics of the boat on my computer at work.  Its the only drift boat i’ve been in that i’ve been able to comfortably stand and fish, without the need for leg braces.
