MemberHere are a few shots from fishing PDC lake yesterday in Atlanta. I’m excited about getting into warmer bass weather. I would have tried my luck with a popper on a fly rod had it not been for a steady and substantial wind. Your thoughts? I would be interested to get your unfiltered feedback–both the good and bad.

MemberI’m not a huge fan of HDR, but I like these well enough.
The last shot seemed really bright when compared to the middle 2 – the 1st shot has really nice lines working through it.
Shot a little (very little, much to my chagrin) bass fishin’ on Lake Amistad this weekend myself. Only actually saw one fish caught – the guys SWEAR that they caught a couple more when they were away from the houseboat in their kayaks, but I’m not so sure.

heh
The best fisherman I saw all weekend was the Osprey – he had a nice fish. 🙂
Will post a link to a couple highlights later.

Kendal, actually none of these are HDRs or tone mapped. They were shot in RAW and tinkered with in Aperture. I used a black and white plug in for Aperture to get the look I wanted for each shot. My dad and I went backwater fishing in Naples a year or two ago and saw both an osprey and bald eagle take ladyfish from the water. It was amazing to watch. Thanks for the feedback guys! Corey, I’m saving up to get a Sigma fisheye like yours. The shots you get with that thing are insane. Thanks again for the feedback.

MemberGreat shots man. I can’t think of too many places better suited for a photo shoot than PDC. I am certainly not in a position to comment on anyone else’s work, but I can tell you that these images are appealing. That fish in the second picture was a toad! Nice job.

MemberIts hard to get the contrast I like without the resulting dark eye sockets. Maybe I should just get my subjects to wear sunglasses hah. But seriously, I’ll mess around with them a little bit to see what I can do.

The Itinerant AnglerJay –
I like these shots a lot and you have a nice knack for working ancillary things like the Georgia G into the shot.

MemberZach, thanks for the input! The third shot was definitely put in black in white to cover up a crappy exposure. How ’bout these?
