I was curious if anybody has any experience with a Sigma 70-200 Ex 2.8 HSM .

    Ive looked at it.

Jarrod are you Canon or nikon?
The reason I ask is if Canon, you have 4 70-200s to choose from.
    70-200 F4 L ($700.00)ish
    70-200 F4 L IS ($1,300)ish
    70-200 F2.8 ($1,300)ish
    70-200 F2.8 IS (2,000)ish

Up here the Sig sells for $1,000.00

The two 70-200 F4s are rated as among Canons sharpest and best lenses. The two F2.8s are no sluoches either. The Sigma may be very good ( I dont know) but I dont tihnk it will be on par with any of the Ls.

If you dont have to have f2.8 you can save some money and get the F4, or spend a bit more and get either the F4 IS, or f2.8 non IS.

I got on the new Sony wagon. I started shooting with a buddy of mine , and he shoots Sony and I thought I might want to borrow lenses from him. 😉
I am well satisfied , and I like the built in IS on the body. I found the 2.8 for 800.00 brand new.
