Just in case anyone here enjoys this sort of stuff, I had credentials for the WOH airshow on Saturday. The conditions were nearly perfect – temp climbed to 80, and the airfield is well situated for the sun, with the only drawback being the breeze pushed the smoke from the pyro towards us.

Still managed some decent work out of it.

Most of these if cropped are minor crops. Shot with a 70-200 and a 1.4 teleconverter.

Fantastic stuff! Loved the Thunder Birds shots and the nose art on the WWII planes!

did you get to see the f-22? i didn’t see any in your pics.

Negative – no F-22 flying on Saturday, and I don’t know if it flew Sunday or not. You can bet I’d have shot it if I’d have seen it!

I appreciate that comment Mike, as I typically try to find a flow to galleries I put up.

Yeah cool pics for sure. I really like the one of the two Thunderbirds flying past each other, that only exists for like a ultra-tiny-milli-second. Did you have your camera in burst mode for that?

    LOL

    I wish.

I shot those with a 3.5 fps Canon XTi.

I’ve seen the show many, many times, and knew the move was coming up, and anticipated the shot – and got very, very lucky.

    Too bad about the A-10.

here are some that came out from the air show mentioned above
pics were taken on the Andres AFB runway’s F-15 Hangers:

on a side note, i’d just purchased this camera and forgot about the autofocus option. thus only a few shots were in focus-that plus the planes were flying very close and very fast and i was a bit intoxicated

Heh – your last comment caused a mighty chuckle here Rob.

    🙂

    Slightly inebriated indeed.
