My first 35mm camera was my mother’s Yashica.

If I could find a Leica M3 for a good price I would pick one up.

I was loaned a Leica M6 for a while by the importer, they wanted me to buy a system, but after testing it out on a fishing trip I came to the conclusion that it was way to slow to load and focus.

It did do very sharp shots.

Also used a Mamiya 7 and 6 and both are great landscape cameras, very light and very good quality lenses;.
I sorta still want one just for the hell of it.

The best though, was the Hasselblad Xpan I had for a while – it was an amazing camera, but i didn’t use it anymore and needed the money for new digital gear.

I will always miss that one..

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

My first 35mm camera was my mother’s Yashica.  Recently a friend gave me a Russian FED 3 and a Kodak 35.  Haven’t put film in the Kodak yet.  The FED works well and has a decent lens, but needs minor repair of a light leak.

Russian Mig 17 shot with the Russian FED.

    Very nice, love the subject!

    Mr. Blevins,
You were thinking of an M3? Have you tried or thought about the (aforementioned) Hasselbad X-Pan? I love mine and it is a true panoramic. I haven’t shot it in a very long time, but it is safe to say I will still have it once film ceases to exist. It is the only camera that (in panoramic mode) sees the way I believe I see with no camera in front of my face. The optics may be Japanese, but they are darn good. It really is all about the glass anyway. texasflycaster

Does shooting with Holga cameras count? Sure they’re plastic, but they are range finders. I go through phases of shooting with them. I’d do it a lot more if I had a film scanner.
