Chad SimcoxMemberHey guys. I finally finished a website make over last night and was hoping to get some feedback. It’s based off of my previous design, but with a new look and some more sections on the menu. I don’t know CSS, so this is straight up HTML.
I’m looking for feedback on the site. What’s working, what’s not working (both aesthetically and technically). Too many options, not enough options? Too many photos? Not focused enough?
I’m bad about getting close to the end of building the site and wanting to re-design. I had to stop myself twice from doing that this go around. The site now matches my business cards, so I’m starting to get my branding style going.Sorry i forgot to add the link! http://www.chadsimcox.com

Mike McKeownMemberChad, it’s looking very good, very good…
I didn’t check all the links, just went to what I like, but it all worked.
I like the layout, the style and the simplicity of the navigation.
I would add a few more pics to the sections I went to, it was like you got my attention and I wanted to see more, but there was just not enough. Tibor Nemth’s site is too complicated, but has lots of pics, I found I spent a lot of time looking for pics, but new that when I found them, I looked at all of them.
I like the branding and the boldness of the black background.
Anyway, that what I think…
BTW, love your work…

MemberNice. I dig it .. Clean design and gets your photos across quickly. Nice job!
A couple of things you might consider …
Maybe embedding a lower rez version of your reel so that it doesn’t take you away from the main site and is quicker to load… You could then offer the higher rez for download.
A custom scroll bar for your image pages might be nice also .. I have some code around for that if your interested shoot me a PM! Just an fyi .. Its .js

MemberChad… very nice design work.
There is a very thin blackline between your index_14 and index_11. Looks like a border you might wanna get rid of that.
And there is no link to get back to the first/home page maybe you want to tell something about yourself overthere or post some news.
And the custom scrollbar is a very good idea this blue one doesn’ t fit into the design.

MemberVery clean – easy to navigate, though I found myself waiting for a few moments at the first page as I expected an image slideshow to load in the main window, and it wasn’t clear to me that the site was loaded.
But then, I’m a little slow on the uptake sometimes.

Chad SimcoxMemberThanks for the feedback!
Corey, good idea on the demo reel. That is something I’ll probably do once I update my reel. I have a lot of new stuff to add from this year.Nomad, I’m not sure what’s causing that black line. It isn’t a border. I don’t think it’s a big enough problem for me to spend too much time searching out a fix, so if I can’t easily fix it, the problem will stay.
As far as a custom scroll bar, I’ll see what I can come up with, but again, I do not see it as being a major issue to focus much time on.Kendal, thanks for letting me know that the first page confused you. I’ll run it by some others and if I get that feedback again I’ll address that.

MemberChad –
Keep in mind I’m an old Norseman from northern Minnesota and my brain froze frequently while I grew up, so I might not be the best test subject.
