Since having a new baby a couple weeks ago I haven’t cast a line.  Ontop of, I’m far past knee deep, in a Merger -no fishing for Aaron – and unfortunately no reports to share.

While sitting on a call today listening to some low-level bank employees throw blame at each other like a football, I was staring out my home office window.  Interrupting the fishing daydream, I was into , instead of the cal I was supposed to be into was these guys.

I tried to get all five of them to pose for me in one shot, but the two youngsters were too into having fun and climbing my neighbors wall to cooperate.

I hope you enjoy them, it was a brief distracting of my now boring (non-fishing) life.

Yah I felt pretty lucky. Thanks for all the nice words. Looks like I may get to go fishing here in a couple weekends.

    Very cool pics, Aaron.

A quick googling turned these up:

    Bobcat:
    Lynx Rufus

    Others in the lynx family:
    Canadian Lynx

    Eurasian Lynx

    Iberian Lynx

Based on location, they would have to be bobcats. Very cool family of cats. The Lynx family that is.

And this happened right out your window at work? Lucky and good on you for having the camera ready. 🙂

We also got one, Karakal, beautiful animals, and they get quite tall… and I have had one or two clos’ish encounters while out and about, trying to sneak a close up of a kitten or two. Wish I still had that pic on my hard drive…

They are tall because they hunt birds and are extremely acrobatic, I have seen one jump at least 3 meters (10 feet) straight up, from a standing start, to get a bird.

Last thing, interesting circle in our farming community.
Mature Karakal will take a lamb, so the farmers shoot them, however, they feed their young on young Jackals, so the Jackal population explodes, they wipeout their natural food supply of rodents, and instead of them just being a pair(for life), one of the litter’s females will join them, turning them into a formidable hunting 3some, and with nothing to eat, they then begin to take lambs.

That is really cool Aaron and some great shots there as well. I don’t do this often but, I will be more than happy to drive over and hold your gear while you go out and play with those cute little Kitty’s. 🙂 I would love to have some new free extra gear LOL…

    LOL  Excellent Ben.   🙂

My first good laugh of the day.

Aaron – you really are lucky you know – those cool critters being around like that – I only ever get a quick glimpse of bobcats, as they’re so skittish, and here you are with a pack, just hanging out.

    Lucky dog.   🙂

I don’t know how it is in Arizona, but you rarely see them here in Texas because the ranchers and folks will shoot them.

LOL— And I guess you want a couple of days notice so that you can starve those little kittens first 😉

Well, I thought that I would bring my cute little pets along but I don’t like to bet on animal fights, something wrong about profiting off of a winner so…

I bet you $100.00 that your cute fury little kittens don’t even show up  ;D ;D
