I’m going to be catching white bass and crappie with my 85 year old buddy Verlyn, throwing down on some Toccoa River snit rainbows so I can try trout low country boil (you use a cheesecloth bag apparently), and cross-your-fingers getting in on some white bass and walleye run action.

Last year was an almost complete rain out, so here’s hoping 2014 makes up for it.

I’ve been cracking off the rust on War Eagle lately. Ready for some fish to wake up.

Yes, the most important time of year approaches with perhaps 20 days ’til full-on striper time. I experienced an emotional jolt upon reading about rainbow trout low country boil. I remained uneasy after cheesecloth was mentioned. Just be careful.

Hahahaha, I know Gary. Same exact reaction here but several of my friends have now sworn by it.

Spring, truly. Shad on the upper Roanoke shortly, followed within a month by the stripers.

Carp are starting to move up onto the flats here in N. Georgia. Won’t be long before carping here is wide open.
